is an abstract painter in oils on canvas. She formed her artistic style through experimentation with pottery, oil on canvas, charcoal and pastel works during the 80’s – 00’s living in Nelson. For the past 15 years she has been living both in Wellington and Christchurch, where her earlier abstract style has found a new direction.
The moody grey days, contrasting angles formed by bright sunshine, and the fleeting intensity of sunsets fuel her creativity. The result is a juxtaposition between the natural environment and the man-made world; an interplay of line, form and impastoed colour to recreate the vitality and depth of our lived environments.
She has been painting for twenty years with some highly successful exhibitions. Her paintings range in size from large scale 2m+ works to smaller 0.8m paintings. Check out her Work for Sale and Archives. Deborah takes commissions for new work. Contact her if you’d like to see more of her work.
